iPhone 6- how do I reinstate volume

My phone will not turn off the headphones. Hard booted phone with headphones in and without. Still says headphones are plugged in. Any suggestions?

Hi, welcome to iMore.

Use a toothpick to take out any dust or other stuff in the headphone jack, but be advised, if you're not careful you can damage the jack.
