Why can't I update my Apple Watch?

When ever I try to update my Watch to WatchOS 3.1.1 it gives me the error reading " Unable to Verify Update : The WatchOS update couldn't be verified because you are not connected to the internet" however I definitely am on wifi. I've tried hard rebooting my phone and rebooting my Watch several times. I have made sure the watch is at 50% and all that, and I cannot figure out the issue. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Did you restart your watch after getting that error? It could solve your issue.
