How can I delete email from my iPhone/iPad and keep it on desktop?

I've searched for help on this but only see answers that are a couple years old. None seem to apply to the latest iOS. I want to delete be able to delete all email from my iPhone & iPad but have it stay on my computer.

One way would be to create an alternate email account on your computer and then forward all incoming email messages from your primary email account to it. Hopefully, others will reply with recommendations as well. Take care.
