I have no IPhone

[iMore Question]

I have just bought a lovely but used Apple Watch.

Im so new to these watches that I didnt even know that the charging base was magnetic !

So little in the way of in box information that I would be grateful for some tips.

I presume that the battery charge is depleted so I guess before I do anything I should charge it.

Ive just plugged the charger into the wall and the magnet onto the back of the watch.

Im not noticing anything of interest happen and I know this sounds daft but do I need to switch the watch on?

And do I switch it on by tapping the dial?

Im sorry for being dense but hopefully I will be answering similar problems to other newbies soon.
