Why in the world do the iphones not have speed dial assignment capability.

This is extremely inconvenient, particularly when the function was so easy on a more basic phone.

I get asked this a lot from new iPhone users. "Favorites" is the same thing as speed dial on an iPhone. You open the phone app, and just tap the name of a favorite and it calls. How much faster can you get?

Yeah, why would you need conventional "speed dial" on an iPhone?
