Text notifications only play on headset

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 10.1.1, paired via Bluetooth with Blue Parrott B450-XT

When paired, the only sound from phone is incoming call, all others only play on headset.

I've checked DND, airplay, etc. called vxi tech support (blue parrot parent company) and was told it is an iPhone setting but they did not know where to find it, anyone know where the setting for notifications to play on phone, headset, or both is?????

Am I missing something? When my devices are connected to a Bluetooth headset, all sounds go to the headset.

All notifications, except for calls, are always going to BT devices. This is not a setting or bug but a feature. You can't change it.

Before the 450, I had the 250 and sounds all played on the phone. Not sure what changed with the 450, but I am not liking it
