How can i turn off the alert tone in text messaging for one person?

I just want the alert not to sound when I get a text message from a certain person. How can I turn it off for just one person and not everybody?

You can turn off sound and vibration for one person, as long as they're in your contacts list. Go to Contacts, select the person, tap edit at top right. Scroll down to Text tone. From the list, select None. Also change vibration there if required.
