I tried to restore an old iPhone 6 Plus and it asked for a verification code that was sent to a trusted device. I assume that it would be my wife's phone that is on the same iCloud account. Since I tried to restore this phone with her account, will it effect her new phone in any way? I don't want to have inadvertently locked her out of hers since I have read that it is nearly impossible to get access to your iCloud account if you do not have the right access codes. So to repeat, will my trying to restore an old phone and not having the verification code lock up her new phone?

It should not have any effect on her phone since it is just a means to retrieve the security access codes.

Wait a minute! What do you mean you tried to restore your phone with her "account"? If you're trying to bypass the iCloud Activation Lock by way of her account then yes, you could be placing her account in jeopardy.
