My SE has really awful battery life. Could it be defected?

iMore Question

Hi everyone. I buy a month ago iPhone SE. I am facing problem with the battery. When I use the phone, Facebook for ex. for 30 minutes the phone drops with 5 to 10%. If I unplug at 6 am, at 6 pm the battery is at 15%-10%. I am mediocre user. Not too light, no too heavy.

I used Windows phone since 2012 and compared to it, iPhone has really awful battery life.

Well considering you get about 12 hours of battery life, it's more than fine for a SE, since the battery is really small... When I had a 5S I got even less time than you (I'm also a heavy user so it's more due to that)

Yeah that doesn't sound correct.
Facebook is a battery leech but not to that point.

I would suggest contacting apple support or the shop you got it from for an exchange or diagnosis.

It's not normal at all. They noted that they are a light user. I am one as well, and my battery for my SE is pretty good, I always get over a day of usage. Don't be fooled by the size of the battery.

They will probably ask you to reset it if you call yes, to see if it's caused by an app or account, so try that.

I would say make sure Background App Refresh is off for that particular app and swipe it away from multi-tasking window when done with it. May be tedious, but I have recently noticed an increase in battery life from doing this.

Yes, but what is the point of doing this? Previous phone was Lumia 640, which was REALLY battery saver. 2 days.

I'm with you, I recently came from Windows Phone myself. Ironically, I came for "less headache" and "better management of memory and battery". For the most part, I've experienced that on my SE, but sometimes these things happen. My SE can usually always make 2 days with regular to sometimes even heavy use (I don't use Facebook or any social media however) .

Yesterday I drained the phone to 0% and recharge it. Unplug at 10 pm. Now it is almost 9 am. All the morning am browsing the Facebook app and listening to Spotify. Since 5 am. The battery is 61%
Usage - 4 h, 1 min
Standby - 10 h 28 min

Facebook was 47% eating battery.

Edit: See the attachments. 1.9 hours Facebook. Maybe I am too obsessed by battery.
