Spam Added to My Calendar App!

I

iMore Question

I have the iPad Mini 4 running iOS 10.1.1.

I received a notification from my (native iOS) calendar app in a foreign language. It was advertising a well-known brand of sunglasses.

I opened my calendar app and saw a 3 day 'event' that is, from its title, the spam ad in question.

I have not opened the calendar event.

What is the correct procedure to remove this spam from my calendar app - and how can I prevent this from happening again?

Thanks to all. I jumped the gun on this one. A little reading on the internet and I figured it out. I've never received spam in my calendar so I got a little nervous. Sorry.

No worries FT, this is actually kind of a big deal, you are right to be concerned! But no worries as I pointed out there IS a work-around/fix AND As Kieth pointed out Apple IS aware and is working on it! :)
