Why is my call volume low in iPhone 7 plus

I am holding an iPhone 7 plus. I experience low sound while speaking to someone without speaker on. With speaker on, the sound is OK. Also sometimes a outgoing ring gets cut when I keep the phone very near to my ear. Any solution please?

Go to Settings - General - Reset, and then select "Reset All Settings".

Make sure volume is turned up in 3 places.
Side of phone.
Settings > Sounds
Pull up Control Center
Also try going to Settings > General > Accessibility > Hearing Devices > Toggle on Hearing Aid Mode. This works for some. It did wonders for my Wife's 5c.
