I can't add storage to my phone,

I can't add storage to my phone, but I keep getting messages that my storage is full and I need to remove things. I know the photos take up a lot of space, so I deleted over half of them - like about 200 or more - but it hasn't given me any more usage. Why is that? I sent them all to my computer and from there saved to my pictures files and deleted them from my inbox. What is the problem?

Welcome to iMore! Be sure your looking at the right storage. There's iCloud storage and the phone's storage. They are different. If you delete photos from the camera roll, it should give you more space. Also delete photos in the Deleted Photos album. Those take up space on the phone as well as in iCloud storage. Delete photos and videos in Messages. Delete apps you don't use.
