I am getting unsolicited invitations to buy RayBan's on sale on every day of my calendar . I delete, but within minutes a reminder pops up with another invitation, again on every day of my calendar. How do I block this?

Log in to iCloud on the web, open your calendar, and go to ⚙ > Preferences. Under Advanced, you’ll find an option to receive calendar invitations by email instead of straight into your calendar.

If you don't need to backup your Calendar to iCloud, you can turn it off. Go to Settings - iCloud - toggle Calendars off.
This way you will not get this kind of ads anymore.

Won't this keep your Calendar from syncing across all of your devices?

Yes, it will. And it will keep your Calendar from all iCloud Calendar spam too. For me, I don't need to sync my Calendar, so I turn it off for good.

Look "Cutting off the nose to spite the face"as you were suggesting is very unnecessary. The steps phreddyl outlined are sufficient to curb this situation until Apple has a chance to permanently remedy the problem

I'm sure Apple's next update will take care of it. The other option is way too drastic, IMO.
