Family Calendar & Reminders Default?

I just bought an iPhone 7 and I have restored from a backup during the initial setup. Just now I decided to reset all settings and setup as new. After it was complete I was browsing around and noticed I have a Family Calendar and Family Reminders list. Family Shari g is NOT setup, so are these items setup by default? If so, why?

It's more of a helpful idea thing than an actual setup, in my opinion, especially being that you can easily rename the Family calendar.
