6 digit code required

my iphone 6 plus upgraded last night and now its asking for a 6 digit code . ive only ever used a 4 digit code

Somebody selected to use a long passcode. Either recall the passcode or restore the device and set it up as new.

Most likely right under the prompt for the 6 digit code there was an option to select other options (4 digit passcode or custom password). As noted above, someone created a 6 digit code if it's asking for one now.
