Currently, I'm using APP and AE for Video Editing and Visual Effects. I'm an Apple Fan, wondering whether FCP and Apple Motion serve the purpose of APP and AE because I want to get out of the subscription based billing.

    Welcome to iMore.

Very good question. I am going to make this as short as possible. Both Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro X are very comparable pieces of software. They will both get the job done for you. In a professional surrounding though, PP is widely used over FCP X. Here is where the difference comes in, Apple Motion vs After Effect. After Effects is a far better software over Motion and is the industry leader. Motion will not serve as a good replacement for AE.

So in conclusion, if you are using it on a professional level, stay with Adobe. If you are using it for your own personal business or for just your personal use, go with FCP X & Motion. I personally use PP & AE. But have had the opportunity to use FCP X & Motion and it is a nice program to use.
