Cant hear when on a call

when using my phone's 'phone' feature, the volume is so low I can't hear anything and the volume is all the way up. I have to turn on the speaker phone or use my bluetooth to make a call.

Welcome to iMore! Reset your device by holding the power button and home button down (or volume down button on iPhone 7/7+) simultaneously until you see the Apple boot logo. If it's still acting up go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. If all else fails take your iPhone into an Apple Store, contact Apple Support, or find a reputable repair shop.
