Should i update now or wait?

I still have the very first Ipad mini 16 GB Wi-Fi Silver and it really needs an update.
It wont update to IOS 10 and its super laggy.
I was planning on buying the Ipad mini 4 but i heard the Mini 5 was going to be released soon , should i update or wait ?

If you can wait, it doesn't hurt. You don't want to make a purchase now and regret it later.
