Default Help With "Family Sharing" Please?

    Hi folks.
Despite pouring over article after article online I cannot find a straightforward path to what I'm wanting to do.

Yes, I want to get an iPhone for my daughter (she is 10.)
I also know that I can create her own Apple ID for a child.

What I don't understand is how to make my own stuff totally separate. I want to be able to use the ask to buy option so that whenever she wants to download any app or buy one the request shows up on my phone to approve or deny.

What I don't want is her to he able to see what apps I have bought and downloaded for myself and be able to download them without me knowing it.

I also do not want her in any way whatsoever to be able to access any photos in my own iPhone photo library, nor do I want her to see my texts, calendars, emails or etc.

Everything I read seems to claim all of this stuff is "shared". I basically want anything and everything in, or coming to and from my device to remain private. I only want to control her ability to spend money in the app store.

Could someone please spare me a minute or two and explain to me how to set these things up the right way?

As the family organizer, you should be able to hide your purchases in the purchased list.

You don't have to worry about your photos, calendar, texts or emails...those items don't get shared. If you go to settings > iCloud > Family share, you'll be able to click on your daughter's name and turn "ask to buy" on so that she has to get permission each time she tries to buy anything. You can also click your own name to turn off "share my purchases". I use these functions on family share and have no issues.

As Nikki said above, photos and etc don't get shared, as long as you don't share the same Apple ID.
