    I turned off my iPhone 5 using the assistive touch and now I can't turn it back on

    Welcome to iMore! AssistiveTouch has nothing to do with you not being able to turn your iPhone back on. It does not override the hardware buttons on your device. Try plugging it into a charger for a few minutes and then trying to power up again.
