Unable to Update Apps on 4s

I have been able to update in past but for past 2 weeks the updating process fails to complete.

What version of IOS are you running? You need to search the app in the app store and see what the minimum firmware that specific app will support. A lot of apps are going iOS8 and better, and apple is asking developers to update their apps or be purged.
