    Welcome to iMore!

I have a couple of suggestions for you to try. I have two Seagate external drives I use with my iMac and am having no issues since moving to Sierra. You could try ejecting and shutting down the drive, then connect it back up to your MBP and then turn it on. See if your MBP will then recognize the drive. If that does not work, I would download Seagate Dashboard from Seagate's site. Open the app and see if it recognizes the drive then. There is a refresh button in the top left corner of the app if it does not initially recognize your drive. Screenshot below of Dashboard interface. As you will see in my screenshot, it recognizes all my Seagate drives.

Seagate Dashboard is a great app for managing your drive. I have been using it for a couple of years now without any issues. Hopefully the info here will help solve your issue.

After Sierra update my external 4tb hard drive is saying full with no access??-screen-shot-2016-09-22-11.35.26-am.png
