Can you use a iPad 4th gen when you dont know the apple id and psw?

Hi. I work as a mover and this lady just gave away her iPad because the charger was not working, but if turns out that everything is working perfectly fine! Now I need to factory reset the device, but it tells me to give the apple id and psw, but it wasnt my device in the first place, I dont have the details. So what should I do in this situation?

Nothing you can do. Unless you have  ID and password there is nothing you can do. Can you possibly get in contact with the original owner, as that is going to be only way, is if you can get it from them. Sorry.
