How can we retrieve photos deleted by mistake?

We kept getting the error message that our phone could not back up because it was too full. So we were told to move photos from the camera roll to folders and delete from the camera roll and it would free up enough space for it to back up properly. We sent hours setting up folders and moving the photos and then began deleting from the camera roll. The next morning we noticed that the photos were also not in the folders. We lost some very special photos and videos, is there anyway to retrieve them?

Check the recently Recently Deleted Folder. The photos in this folder keep the photos for 30 days I believe until they are automatically deleted.
