iPhone Calendar search for past events stopped working

After the last update, the search function on the calendar finds only future events, it does not find past events anymore, even though they are in the calendar. Resetting the iPhone does not help. Is Apple aware of this? Do other people have the same problem?

I just did a search for past events and they were all located immediately. I'm running the most recent Dev beta version of iOS 10, by the way.

Mine is only 9.3.5 .
