Should i buy iPhone 6s or wait for iPhone 7?

I have been using Blackberry for many years and now i want to switch to another platform. I have neither used iPhone nor Android (never want to) before. So, this would be my first experience using iPhone (or any Apple product). I need suggestions, should i go for iPhone 6s or wait for iPhone 7. Also, if i buy iPhone 6s (which is already a year old), how long would i get latest updates?

The announcement of the new phones is 5 days away with preorders starting not too long after. September 7th is the event, so roughly September 16th will be the release day.

I would suggest waiting until the iPhone 7 is officially announced. You would be able to make a better decision based on your preferences.

As for the updates, if you got the iPhone 6s, you will be getting updates for at least 3 more years.

Well the 6s and the 7 are the same price so, I guess that answers the question.
