    Welcome to iMore!!

Can you be more descriptive of the charge? Did you receive an email receipt for something or are you just noticing a charge on your CC or bank statement?

Providing more information will help us in assisting you. Thanks.

Could be app, movie or song purchases - they don't always charge you immediately for purchases but will bundle them together and charge you at a later date. Also check whether you've signed up to Apple Music without meaning to, or have signed up to a subscription within an app. To check any subscriptions you might have, open the iTunes app, scroll to the bottom and tap on your account. Once you've entered the password tap 'Manage' to check your subscriptions. Hope this helps.

Just came across this in another post - it's another way to check purchases but also lets you contest them:

Welcome to iMore! ... you can visit http://reportaproblem.apple.com, log in, view your purchases, and request any applicable refunds. To me, this is the most direct and easiest to use methods.

Could it be that you signed up for iCloud storage? I'm billed monthly for $0.99.

How nice for you... but I don't think that helps the OP at all.

There are several different plans you can pay for iCloud storage, starting at $0.99 USD a month for 50GB .

Stop. iTunes does not cost $2.99 per month. iCloud storage is something different.
