iOs update for iPad 3

I'm about to update my four year old iPad 3 to iOS 9 but there is no "Download & Install " button to click on? Anyone know why this is? Thanks!

How are you trying to update it? Can you not go to Settings → General → Software Update to install iOS 9.x.x on your 3rd generation iPad?

It is not a smart idea to upgrade to ios 9 as your battery will run low almost instantly due to necessary mechanics for ios 9. I own an iPad 3 as well and I just stay with ios 8 because ios 9 is too "advance" so to speak for the early versions of iPads. If you still wanna upgrade your iPad 3, visit General then software upgrade to upgrade your iPad.
