Also, if you want to send it to the Music app from Mail on your iPhone without using iTunes, that's not possible. The Music app on iOS is a bit deficient in that regard. You'll have to use a third party app for storing and playing the file, but it still won't show up in Music.

For instance, by tapping the file icon in Mail, I can open it in Documents by Readdle.
