I ask because I have a device for which I have lost the AC charger. I have another charger, no name, that has 5v output. Its cable has a USB connector at the charger end. My device (marine handheld VHF radio) can be charged via a USB connection. Connecting the dots, I assume USB power output is 5v?

    Thanks.

The 'U' in USB is supposed to stand for "Universal"... That said, using the radio's charger in a pinch should be OK... I'd get an OEM charger ASAP were I in your situation.
