My phone company uses a third party service to activate the number on my Verizon iPhone 5c. He charges me $100 for this service using a software system to activate the data and voice service. What kind of software/hardware is the third party guy using for this outrageous charge?

Just out of curiosity... why didn't you just go to Verizon? And what phone company is this? I personally would've asked that question prior to activating my service.
