Default Possible to change news feed content?

I really hate that I only have feeds from far left news organizations such as cnn,NY times and Washington post. Can this be changed?

My experience with the News app is that you can make it display whatever information you want it to display. Have you tried adding channels you prefer in the search tab?

I'm not sure what that means. How exactly do you change the feeds in your experience?

First, go to the Favorites tab, hit Edit in the top right corner, and remove whatever channels you don't want to see. Second, go to the Search tab and search for whatever items you want in your Favorites. Press the + icon next to each search item to put it in your Favorites.

Didn't work. I think Apple prefers these news outlets.

Sorry it's not working for you. It is working for me.

Edit: Unless you're talking about the news items that show on the spotlight search screen. Yeah, I agree that appears to be broken. It does not seem to reflect what shows on the For You tab in the News app.

Favorites do not work for me either. I agree it's what Apple wants you to see.

For what it's worth, the news widget in iOS 10 beta is doing the same thing. It displays 'Trending' news stories from channels that have been 'muted' in the News app. I lean to the left, so CNN and Huffpost stories don't bother me. But I do agree that it shouldn't work that way. I submitted a bug report for it. We'll see if they fix it.

I don't get any news at all in Spotlight Search now. All I get are recent apps.

Neither do I in iOS 10. My guess is the news widget on the side screen (where spotlight search used to be) is replacing it.
