I have a cracked ipad screen and i was wondering is it worth getting fixed and how hard would it be to fix it myself or just buy a new one

If it's an iPad 3rd gen or below - I'd replace... and as repair goes - I'd opt for 'qualified service personnel' vs DIY... but that's how I roll.

True probably could get a replacement for about the same price as a screen repair would cost

Its rarely cost effective, as other have said only professional authorized repair is recommended and that costs hundreds depending on model.
