Why cant i catch a pokemon?

I see the three beginning Pokemon's but I tap on them and nothing happens

I see the three beginning Pokemon's but I tap on them and nothing happens

You have to fling the Pok?ball at them. Then they have four chances to escape before it actually captures them. You will hear a latching sound and see stars come from the Pok?ball when it is caught.
