Restore trouble

I recently got a new iPhone because my other one got completely damaged by water. I set the new one up using "restore from backup". The backup has restoreed all my apps, contacts, etc.; however NONE of my photos have come through. It doesn't even say "downloading" when I go in the photos app. Does anyone know why this may be??? Thanks!

Welcome to iMore! Make sure you have iCloud Photo Library enabled in Settings > iCloud > Photos. Make sure your iPhone is plugged in and that you're connected to wifi.

Photos has always been one of those things that takes forever. Hopefully you'll get them back soon!
