Default why do you to void the warranty of a phone if it has a dents?

Welcome to iMore! Apple's limited warranty doesn't cover physical damage. If your display is broken and they feel that it is a result of physical damage they can choose not to cover it. Do you have AppleCare+? It's a worthwhile purchase in the future.

If your display needs to be replaced but the case has dents they will not replace the display unless you have Applecare +. The new display will not be able to be put into your case because of the dents. There is very close tolerance and with the dents the new display will not fit and possibly not work. Once they take your phone they assume responsibility and if they can't replace the screen they will need to replace the phone instead. I've had this happen to me twice.

They are problem claiming the screen is working right because of the dents knowing it has been dropped. Drops can cause issues with the screen and lines to develop.
