My iphone 5s touch screen hangs, I am not able to access any apps, only home button is working

Its not been more than a year yet but my iphone 5s screen gets dead. I am not able to use screenpad only home button works. please suggest what to do.

First I suggest a hard reset. Hold the power & home button until you see the  logo and then release. If this does not solve the problem, then I suggest making a Genius appointment to have you phone looked at.

If you use a screen protector and/or a case, try removing those and see if your touch screen works then. If not, please do as firedept10 suggested.

If only your home button works, then you can't do a hard reset. You can try a soft reset by going to Settings > General > Accessibility > Assistive Touch. > device > long press on "lock screen". > slide to power off.

Or let the battery drain down until it shuts off on its own.
