Apple news app.

Can anyone tell me why I cannot turn off "mobile data" for the Apple news app when I'm in "Settings" on my iPhone 4s ? what is shown is a slightly paler green on/off switch. As I wish to mothball this app I would like to turn all its functions off. my iPad gen 3 allows me to do this.

Hi, did you check if restrictions were applied in settings. Could be you have somehow restricted managing mobile data for news or something else.

If that's not the case, do a hard-reset on your 4s.

Thanks, but not that. I turned everything off in settings, closed everything down every way I could think of ( open pages etc ) and left it for an hour, and mobile data is off !! I would still like to know exactly what that half tone green means so I know what was going on, but heigh-ho !
