How do I delete a "sent" email stuck in iPhone's Outbox?

iPhone email outbox (hotmail, if that matters) has a two-week-old message that will not send, and I am so far unable to delete the thing. As a result, other "sent" emails get hung up, and I have to go into Outbox and re-send each of them by hand. How do I get rid of this pest?

Try swiping left when your viewing the header in Accounts>Sent

Also maybe try turning on Airplane mode to cut off the send attempt then delete the email from the outbox
