Missing itunes library

I have a new laptop due to my old one died last week so I went to itunes and my music library isnt on there WHY???
I had heaps of songs in my itunes library now I only have 36 songs help

The 36 songs in your library are the songs you purchased through iTunes. The rest of your music was purchased elsewhere or imported from CDs. The music is on your old laptop in the iTunes directory.

Situation #2 The missing music was originally purchased or imported into a different iTunes account that was being shared, and you haven't turned on sharing on your new machine.
