Welcome to iMore! If you don't have the buttons, maybe try uninstalling and re-installing the app. I just downloaded it and it's there.

A few months ago Pinterest updated their app and left off the saving to iphone feature. Now I have it back and I'm not updating the app thinking it will be left off again ...
I use this app all the time and it sucks without that feature...

It's there, as you said. My guess it was an oversight or something they changed and got backlash:
