My face touching my phone pushes the buttons and it goes to FaceTime

Since there's no way to natively toggle on or off the sensor, try rebooting your device by pressing & holding the home & power buttons until the Apple Logo appears. Hope that helps

Does the Facetime app open and ask for a log in if you are logged out of the app? If you're not using Facetime at all, you can always set a restriction for the app itself. That way it won't come on durring a call.

If doing a hard reset as Nikki suggests does not work, then I would take the phone in to Apple and have them check to see if there's something wrong with the sensor.
