Why does my iPhone not give me an option to receive notifications from Instagram?

on my phone I went to settings, then notifications and it gives me a list of all my apps that I can choose to turn notifications on or off but it does not list Instagram.

I have had this problem in the past with applications such as Skype and currently have it with Flipboard. Going to notification settings shows no trace of the app, but it's enabled within the app settings themselves. Not sure how to fix it myself and would prefer not to have to delete the app to initiate the request.

Just an update, but when I sent a message to Flipboard they advised it is indeed a problem with iOS and have asked Apple for help on the issue. Was told they'd respond once there is a fix.
