To upload photos to iCloud go to Settings, iCloud, Photos, then turn iCloud Photo Library on. It automatically uploads your photos the the cloud so you can access your photos from all your devices signed into your apple id. (Be careful - when you have iCloud photo library on you can't delete photos just from your phone, you delete them from the cloud and all of your devices.)
