I have just bought an iPad pro and apple pencil yesterday. The pencil doesn't seem to work.

I've looked on your help site done all the steps, I think. The pencil seems to have connected with the pad ok. But still won't work. Do I need an app to make it work. When I bought it yesterday Java was mentioned. Is this necessary to make it work. Help! I want to start using it now and can't. Hope you can help. Thank you

Have you plugged it into the iPad to make sure it has sufficient charge to operate?

If it were me, I would go to the nearest Apple Store and have one of the Apple Store geniuses show me how to use it and/or check to see whether or not it is defective.
