Why is my iPhone 6 home button working fine except to turn on screen/phone when sleeping?

My iPhone 6 home button works perfectly when you are on the phone using it, only issue is when the phone automically goes black (sleep mode) or I turn it into sleep by pressing the power button, I cannot use the home button to bring it out of sleep. I press it but nothing happens so instead I have to press the power button.

Also, I can't use the fingerprint scanner (fairly sure there's another thread about this but il just add it on anyway). When I go to add a fingerprint it instantly (before even getting to the step of placing my thumb on the home button to set it up) goes to a new screen saying failed.

It sounds like you'll need to take it in to an authorized Apple repair shop. Make sure it's an authorized Apple store.
