Phone message indicator

Phone indicator says one message in red but When press phone it goes to voicemail screen and says no voicemail. Can not get to keypad

Welcome to iMore! Try opening app switcher by double tapping your home button and then swiping up on your Phone app to close it. If you're still having an issue at that point reset your device by holding the power button and home button down simultaneously until you see the Apple boot logo.
