How do I get the voice messaging mic back on my iphone6

The mic for voice messaging is gone. The only thing there is the word "send". How do I find my mic??

Mine only shows up when the message I'm sending is an iMessage. My neighbor has an iPhone and every time I message her the mic icon is there. When I text my fiance' who is using Android, there is no mic.
