Iphone5s wont send regular messages

Why wont my iphone 5's send regular text messages but will let me send i message its been doing this allot more.
I sent my phone in before but it came back and still will not send text messages. And this could go on for a hour to 1 to more days.i need it to work asap can you help?

Welcome to iMore! Have you tried Reset Network Settings?
Reset Network Settings Settings>General>Reset>Tap Reset Network Settings. You may need to enter your wifi passcode back in afterwards.

If that doesn't work, I suggest you contact your carrier.
