Why can't I enter anything in the safari search bar?

Safari search bar on my iPhone 6 suddenly will not allow anything to be typed in. Safari just closes immediately when I try to access the search bar.

Welcome to iMore. There seems to be an issue with Safari today. Go into Settings->Safari->Safari Suggestions and turn it off. This seems to be the temporary fix for it.

It's been working for me all day. If the above doesn't work, reboot your device and then try again.
